I re-found the GOLDEN EAGLE at 3:00 PM on the
electrical tower to the left as you exit the Don
Edwards NWR in Newark (two towers southeast of the "W"
hotel). The eagle was actively looking around, up,
down, at its feet, etc. I attempted to digiscope it;
Ron Wolf's photos were a lot better than mine! These
are mine:

After about a half hour, the eagle took off and flew
low across the wetland on the southeast side of Paseo
Padre (across from the refuge entrance) before taking
off towards the east and disappearing.
I scoped near the entrance gate and on Tidelands Trail
near the hunting shack, and I drove slowly down
Marshlands Road to the pier, but I was unable to
relocate the stilt sandpiper or find the ruff that had
been reported.
In the slough in front of the hunting shack, among a
group of black-necked stilts I found two spinning
RED-NECKED PHALAROPES busily feeding in the gray
water.
A marvelous female BELTED KINGFISHER was hunting from
an edge of the bridge that crosses the slough on the
Tidelands Trail (across from the Learning Center).
A male kestrel continues to hunt the hillside from the
telephone wires on the south side of the entrance road
across from La Riviere Marsh.
