While driving home from work Thursday afternoon, I was shocked to observe a circling Golden Eagle flying above Willow Street between Thorton & Central in Newark. The adult Golden Eagle was very cooperative and circled for over 5 minutes at an altitude of 50-75 ft. I was able to park and photograph the bird before it leisurely coasted South toward Fremont.

Willow Street is a short industrial road immediately adjacent to large open fields along the bay front near Don Edwards NWR.
