Yesterday, Thursday, Fred Safier reported that he had his first Northern Flicker at the north end of Homestead near Seven Hills Ranch Road. Western Tanagers are still in that area.

Also Thursday, Ted Roberson and I watched Yellow Warblers in Heather Farm Park until we tired of the effort. A Red-shouldered Hawk distracted us, not to mention the necessity to return home.

This morning I only found two Yellow Warblers, but in the north end of the maintenance area, near the water pump building, I found my first fall White-crowned Sparrow.

An American Kestrel continues on the wires across the Seven Hills Ranch west of the Equestrian Center.
