[EBB Sightings] Great horned owl calls

I rehabilitate great horned owls for Lindsay Wildlife Museum. Male
great horned owl calls are definitely lower than females. And although
the females tend to be larger than the males, there is overlap so you
can have a small female that is smaller than a large male. This time of
year, the adults are still calling to their young so that may be what
you are hearing when there are multiple owls calling. It is not usual
for the breeding season to begin until later in the fall.
