On Monday at Huckleberry Preserve, I thought that I
heard the loud, high "squeeking call" of a golden
eagle, but had no visual confirmation. Yesterday, for
the first time in months, I saw both eagles perched on
the Com Towers at Sibley. The huge female perched on
the top of the middle tower, her body almost as thick
as the big, capsule-shaped tower warning light to her
right; her mate was next door on the adjacent tower, a
little below her, as befits a somewhat lesser, albeit
    equally lofty being.

They maintained those perches for over an hour and a
half, affording me multiple happy looks as I
traversed the Huckleberry Loop. An EBB correspondent
wrote me that she had recently observed a juvenile
golden eagle at Sibley, although that doesn't
necessarily mean that the Round Top pair bred this
year. Any confirmation or denial of 2007 breeding at
    this site?
