I've been puzzling over what I think is a juvenile sparrow that's been in my
backyard for at least a couple of weeks. I believe it's a Savannah Sparrow.
Not unusual for this area but for my backyard, yes. Not their usual habitat.
It's been pecking at my seed block and doing a towhee like 2-step under my
plum tree. Anyway here's the description- Notched tail, reddish tertials,
dark streaking on the breast, no central spot, white throat, dark upper
beak, lighter lower, dark eyeline, no yellow lore, grayish eyebrow, well
difined grayish auricular with dark mustachial, lower dark lateral/malar
    stripe.
