[EBB Sightings] Sibley golden eagles

On Tuesday afternoon, I heard and saw a golden eagle flying from Round
Top.  The goldens have been missing since June and did not nest in any
known location this year.  I heard what sounded like a juvenile
crying, then saw a bird pop up into the air, sail around for a short
time and disappear to the east.

About 20 minutes later I caught a brief look at another large dark
bird with very broad wings, definitely not an RT or TV, but too brief
a glimpse to confirm a golden.  This was at the towers across the road
from the parking lot.

Also, while I was starting out, two women in a car in the parking lot
said they had heard a pileated knocking shortly before.  I didn't hear
or see one but they seemed to know what they were hearing.  Hopefully
they read or can post to this list and can post their hearing of a
pileated.
