[EBB Sightings] Emeryville Elegant Terns

This morning about 9:30 a.m. I counted approximately 460 Elegant Terns roosting and foraging on/from old docks and sandy beaches near the Bay Bridge toll plaza and on the Emeryville Crescent, Emeryville.  It was quite a sight.  They were best observed from the end of Powell Street with a spotting scope.  Although access to marshes near the toll plaza is sometimes possible, it looked like parking over there may be difficult at present due to the Bay Bridge construction.
   
  Also, on August 2 I observed a Black Skimmer skimming just north of the Albany bulb in Albany at the end of Buchanan Street.
