Bob Richmond's e-mails are not going through so he asked me to pass on
    this sighting.

Yesterday, at Hayward Shoreline, Bob found a Yellow-billed Cuckoo in the
trees on the east side of the area known as Frank's Dump EAST. This is not
Frank's West where birds are usually reported.

Frank's East is the open seasonal wetland (now dry) immediately north of
end of West Winton Ave. where it passes under the main power transmission
lines. To access the trees it is best and safest to not to enter through
the landfill gate where all the truck traffic is entering. Rather enter
through the main park trail gate and then work your way around (no trail) to
the trees. Be cognizant of the landfill capping operation and the truck
traffic so as not to interfere with their project.

       Peter
