Regarding the posting of a pigeon flying through traffic, I saw a pigeon doing the same kind of daring-do on either 580 or 80 at Marin Ave. in Albany within the last week.

There are two male Ruddy Ducks in breeding plummage and one female in Meeker Slough on the Richmond Bay Trail and a small flock of Scaup (sp.) out toward the Bay south of the Slough, north of the rickety pier. Also a lone Northern Pintail male continues in Meeker Slough in with the Mallards. On two different occasions within the last week in the slough just east of the bridge, I saw Clapper Rail, one of which spent quite a while preening close to the water's edge at almost high tide.

Yesterday Sunday, July 8 there were three Black Oystercathers also just north of the pier, in same vicinity as scaup, and two Caspian Terns in the newly restored marsh south of the Richmond Field Station (East side of trail).
