I went today and the tide was out. No Phalarope but the Avocet was there. It
might be worth it to walk south of the black plastic sheets towards the next
bridge. There were birds down there, but I didn't have time for a better
    look.

    Dear Birders:

Has anyone seen the Richmond shoreline Red Phalarope in the last day or
two? I went looking for it yesterday noon following the excellent
directions and only found one handsome avocet in breeding plumage. The
tide was out, possibly emptying the mentioned ponds. A gorgeous area
and for me a new discovery but, alas, no phalarope.
