[EBB Sightings] 5/21/07 Bullock Oriole in Castro Valley

Seen at 94546-4530.  Watching for more.

 

We have been defending this residential territory from crows (w/pellet gun
w/out any crow deaths).  Newly established this year are Robins, Mourning
Doves, Mocking Birds, Red House Finches, wood peckers, and several other
species yet to be identified.  Waiting to see whether Starlings return, as
there were several hundred living in a tree that was cut down 6 months ago.
Not sure how to defend against them, since pellet gun proves lethal on
Starlings and there are too many of them.
