This morning (Sat, 5/5), 2 1st-year male LAZULI BUNTINGS were singing
at San Pablo Bay Regional Shoreline in Pinole. My records show that
I often get one or two of these little guys each year in
mid-May. Interestingly, last year's sighting was on exactly the same
    date. They never hang around.

A family of 5 Bewick's Wrens was a real treat. By the clumsy short
flights of the young, I would guess they fledged within the last day or so.

On a belated note, an Osprey and a pair of Bullock's Orioles were the
highlights of a walk out to Cook's Point yesterday at Pt Pinole
Regional Shoreline in Richmond. There were very few shorebirds at
Cook's Point, including 1 Semipalmated Plover.

    Good birding,
