Rudeness is in the eyes of the offended person. Last year about this
time I was in Australia looking at some feeders in a front yard.
Rainbow Lorikeets were flying in by the dozens and putting on quite a
show. I had my telephoto lens out the side window, when the landowner
started walking towards me. I was worried about a confrontation, but
he wanted to invite us into his back yard, where he had more feeders, a
better view for photographing, and other birds (including Little
Corellas). Not only did we get great views of gorgeous birds, he and
three other neighbors in the area helped us find wild Koalas in a park
    across the street!

The Mines Road landowner smay feel it's rude for people to look into
their yard, but it's not illegal. On the other hand, their threats are
illegal, and should be dealt with by the Sheriff's Department or local
    law enforcement agency.
