Continuing to build on the owl sightings - it had moved across to a
clump of pines on the other side of the trail - it is now really
about 100+ yards away. It is still on a horizontal branch on the
right side just above a long broken / dead branch - but these pines
are across the expanse of scrub brush. To see it you need to still
walk up the paved road just beyond the split from the trail. After
the first two Monterey pines (but before the clump described below)
look across the top of the scrub brush and you will see a tree with a
long curved branch reaching to the ground. It was just above that.
Still in the open and quite large - but binocs definitely needed - a
    scope a plus.

    Good birding.
