    Just to add a P.S. about the Varied Thrushes.  I had one in my backyard,
    a first for me, and the last day I saw it was 3/25.  I had not seen it
    for well over two weeks, but all of a sudden I saw it on that day, and
    not seen it since.

    I guess that's the season:? the 7 Varied Thrush that have spent the
    winter in my yard in Orinda eating birdseed all day, every day, finally
    left Monday March 26- haven't seen any of them since then.
