Sighted on Sunday on an early and short walk up Mitchell Canyon in beautiful weather:

In the Parking Lot were Lark Sparrows, Western Blue Birds, a Warbling Viero, Black-headed Grossbeaks.
Along the road were Wilson's, Orange-crowned, Yellow-rumped and Townsend's Warblers and
    another Warbling Viero.
A California Thrasher was found singing. From the gate at the parking lot, take the second road to the right, there is no sign but Black Point Trail Branches off this road a short distance from MCR. The Thrasher was about 300 yards off Mitchell Canyon Road on the right in the chaparell near the only Coulter Pine on the hill.
The usual woodland species were numerous and active.
    A very birdy morning.

Regarding the Peregrine Falcons in Pine Canyon: in the last two weeks I have been on an overlook
on the West side of Pine Canyon twice and both evening seen one Peregrine Falcon. On the last occasion, the falcon flew into the rocks near the old nest and could be heard calling. This was about 5 PM on both occasions.

    Good Birding,
    Lynn Lakso
