    Hi E. B. Birders,

This morning at Valle Vista Staging area in Moraga
seven of us saw a Gray Flycatcher at the south end of
the loop trail. The bird was in the scrub just east
of the area nearest the reservoir. I was alerted to a
"vit" call I could not place, then the flycatcher came
    into view.

    What we noted:

    Constant tail pumping.
    Grayish unvested breast.
Round, (never crested while we watched) head.
Paler area between eyes and bill.
Bill with more orange below than I usually see on
    Hammond's.
Primary project was really hard to get on, rather
    short.
The "vit" call was the only vocalization.
Stayed along the edge of the trail and the scrubby
area, foraging low over the shorter vegetation.

    All the Best Birding,
    Denise Wight
