This morning, April 27, at Murrieta's Well (0.25 mi S of Tesla on Mines Road),
    there were 3 Eurasian Collared-Doves, a Yellow-breasted Chat (in the fenced-in
area on the right before reaching the creek), and 3 juvenile
Great Horned Owls (in an Oak tree between a Date Palm and a small metal shed,
visible from the P, G & E gate at the S. end of the road over the creek). On
Wednesday, April 25, there were the doves and owls (1 adult), a Western Tanager,
and a male Black-headed Grosbeak. On April 21, there was a male Yellowthroat
    and male and female
    Black-headed Grosbeaks there.

The Western tanager was my first this year, and the Chat my first in Livermore
since April 27 (same date!) 2003.

My earliest date for a Western Tanager in Livermore was April 13, 2000 and April
    13, 2002.
