    EBB:

James Holmes sent me a correction on behalf of Greg T. Scyphers. The
reported bird of April 26th was in fact a Little Blue Heron and not a
    Reddish Egret as originally posted.

Still a Little Blue Heron is a good bird for Contra Costa County. I
encourage others to seek out and report success or lack of success in
tracking down the Antioch Little Blue Heron.

Over the years I do not recall having ever heard a report of a Little Blue
Heron in Contra Costa County. I have seen a Little Blue Heron only once in
neighboring Alameda County (5 August 1999). Just how many previous records
of Little Blue Heron are there for Contra Costa County?

Correction posted to Northern California BirdBox:

    Contra Costa Co.-CORRECTION
    ----------------
On Apr 26, while driving to a training exercise in Antioch/Pittsburg at the
sewage treatment plant off 10th Street, while on 10th, an alternate plumaged
LITTLE BLUE HERON flew over the road into the Dow Wetlands area. The Dow
Wetlands is right at the boarder of Antioch and Pittsburg. (Greg T.
    Scyphers)

    Mike,
Thanks, can you send out another email and state that it is a LITTLE BLUE
HERON and not a REDDISH EGRET.

Greg accidentally sent it to me as a REDDISH EGRET as he was working on a
REDDISH EGRET submission for the Nevada Rare birds commiteee.

Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

    Jim
