In North Orinda at 7 AM this morning we heard a pair of Pacific Slope  
Flycatchers....the first of the season.
Back in April 2005, we had one persistent PSF male who called at night  (but 
not since) !
 
Other early morning songsters:
oak titmouse
ruby crowned kinglet
pair of Great Horned owls (visible at dusk uphill in the oaks)
brown creeper
