A great day today! (Thursday 3/29) --we sighted the Ferruginous Hawk while hiking in Briones RP this morning--it was riding the winds near the intersection of Mott Peak Trail and Briones Crest Trail. This afternoon, here in the Refugio Valley area of Hercules, the first Hooded Oriole of the season came to check out our hummer feeder--a beautiful male in full rich color-- announced his arrival with great noisy buzzing and clicking! What a beautiful day it is!
