[EBB Sightings] Common Snipe and Tufted Duck In Oakland

East Bay Birders:

Because my e-mails to EBB were not configured correctly, Tuesdays
posting was a day late. Sorry for the confussion. I saw a TUFTED DUCK
on 2/12 (Monday) at about 10:00 am or so in the Northeast part of lake
Merritt.

Happier news: I found 3 COMMON SNIPE yesterday at Damon Slough
mitigation sight, Martin Luther King Jr Regional Shoreline, near the
end of Edgewater road in Oakland. These birds were best seen from the
bench nearest the foot/bike bridge that crosses Damon Slough. Search
the mitigation site (now a very birdy, freshwater wetland) in brown
grass less than a foot high.
