"Rammer, Jammer, Yellowhammer; Give 'em hell Alabama. . . ."

A male Yellowhammer visited our yard in Alamo today, making my wife,
a native Alabaman, feel right at home. The Yellowhammer is the
official state bird of Alabama, and is currently known as the Yellow-
    shafted Northern Flicker.

We had a pair of Varied Thrushes today, too. Not bad for a dreary,
    rainy day.

    Happy Birding!
