This morning the 4th-Wednesday Golden Gate Audubon trip was treated to 
sights of a female Surf Scoter at Lake Merritt - in the raft down 
towards the band shell near the library - and also a female Red-Breasted 
Merganser and a male Ring-Necked Duck. And a Red-Breasted Sapsucker near 
the lawn bowling club.

Not a lot of species for the location - only 33 - but some really good 
looks at some really great birds....
