The Sunday Oakland Bird Club walk had 66 species from two locations. We started at the Eastshore Park at the bottom of University Ave. where we had a very long and clear look at a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher hopping about in a Coyote bush (maybe they'll nest there this year).
Then we made our way over to Meeker Slough where we were treated to a long and close look at a Red-throated Loon swimming next to a Common Loon.
Also at Meeker Slough there were several Black-bellied Plovers, one of which looked as though it could have been a Golden Plover. We did not have sufficient resouces to make that call, however. So if anyone is out there keep on the lookout and bring a camera just in case.

I tried to morph a raft of Canvas backs into Redheads, but to no avail.

Thanks to Dolores Butkus for planning the trip and thanks to all of the excellent birders who made this a very special day.
