    Hi E. B. Birders,

This morning I led a field trip to the Lafayette
Reservoir for Golden Gate Audubon. At about 8:00 am,
in excellent morning sunlight, we watched the adult
Bald Eagle harass an Osprey that had just caught a
fish. Eventually the eagle gave up pursuit, flew past
us, and perched at the top of a pine near the
southeast end of the spillway parking lot. It stayed
there for at least 15 minutes. From the paved trail
between the parking lot and the playground, we were
able to view the eagle from directly below. Quite
    stunning in warm morning light.
