    Just to add to the list of people seeing varied thrush eating seed.   
    I have seen them under a tube feeder and assume they are gathering  
    fallen seeds.  I also have 2 townsend warblers at my seed and suet  
    feeders and a first is a ruby crowned kinglet at the suet and picking  
    up loose sunflower chips on the deck.  The winter bird activity has  
    been very interesting this year.
