This morning (Sun, Dec 3), we walked from Shimada Friendship Park in
Richmond out to Meeker Slough for the high tide around 9:30 am. Best birds
were a SORA, a CLAPPER RAIL, and 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS.

The Sora was particularly entertaining, swimming along among the reeds like
a tiny coot or moorhen. When a coot plowed past too close, the poor Sora
jumped up on a stick and flashed his little white tail excitedly.

The Peregrines were a gray adult dive-bombing a brown juvenile. One of the
birds was making an odd chirping sound, probably the juvenile.

Other good birds included a Belted Kingfisher in the marsh, a Spotted
Sandpiper along the rocks, and a Say's Phoebe and an American Pipit on the
    lawn near the parking lot.

    Good birding,
    --
