Between approximately11:20 and 11:35 this morning we had excellent views of
the Yellow-billed Loon at Pescadero Creek. It was at the east end of the
lagoon, actively feeding in shallow water near some American Coots and was
moving back and forth near the bank. Using our scope and binoculars we had
excellent views. At about 11:35 another pair of birders arrived and we
pointed the bird out to them. Much to our chagrin the photographer
aggressively proceeded to move down to the bank to get photographs of the
bird which proceeded to dive and eventually resurfaced near the Hwy. 1
Bridge. He continued to pursue the bird and it ultimately left the creek
and entered the ocean. Several other birders were equally disappointed with
this birder's apparent lack of birding etiquette. We hope that the bird
returns for others to see and enjoy.

    Best of birding,
    Paul and Nancy Schorr, Antioch
