Karen DeMello and I took the Vasco caves tour on
Saturday (fantastic! I see why it is a sacred place).
It was foggy/overcast, and at the Brushy Peak lot
    there was chilly wind.
FYI, the naturalists told me that there were
specialized trips being planned, including a birding
    trip.

    Red-tailed Hawk
    Cooper's/Sharpshinned Hawk
    American Robin
    Rock Wren
Loggerhead Shrike (I'm pretty sure but we didn't see
them, lots of buzz calls at Vasco and Brushy Peak)
    Say's Phoebe
    Black Phoebe
    Golden-crowned Sparrow
    White-crowned Sparrow
    White-throated Swift
    American Kestrel
    Common Raven
    California Quail
Gull sp. (large flock over the dump)
Rock Pigeon (at the rock formations at Vasco)
    White-tailed Kite
    Turkey Vulture
    Western Meadowlark
    Red-winged Blackbird (Brushy Peak lot)

    a Coyote

There were mud swallow nests in the holes of the rock
formations, and along the edge of a rock concretion.
Also, there was evidence that some small brown bird
had been eaten, as there were numerous body and other
feathers in and around the fairy shrimp pools.

At Brushy Peak lot under the Eucalyptus, were owl
    pellets.
