Today from approx. 3:40-4:00 pm I saw the BRANT previously reported by
Alan Kaplan and Dave Quady off the Richmond shoreline (accessed via the
    S. 51st St. path). The best views were obtained from the Bay Trail in
the vicinity of the brown "15 MPH/Dogs on Leash" sign adjacent to West
Stege Marsh and approx. 750-800 feet north of the bridge mentioned in
Dave's earlier post (it's the only such sign along the trail for quite a
ways). The bird was foraging only about 100 foot out from the base of
the riprap shoreline in the shallows of the outgoing tide, affording
fantastic views. When I left at about 4:05 the Brant was still foraging
in the vicinity of a piece of wreckage exposed by the receding tide,
    along with several American Coots.
