Friends: About 11:15 this morning, Tuesday October 3, 2006, there were about
a dozen Western Bluebirds (mixed with a few Yellow-rumped Warblers) on the
median at Ashbury Avenue and A Street, in El Cerrito. They were sitting in
the smaller Magnolia on the southside of the strip, and coming down to the
grass to feed on an emergence of flies (looked like small Soldier Flies to
me) at the curbside of the strip. Most of the Bluebirds were females, none
were speckled like juveniles, and the one male lacked the brown on the back
(I think he had white there) but was a beautiful blue.

Best of Birds to you all.
