    Greetings (EBB?ers,) Birders,

The following Contra Costa County birds are reported here for yesterday and
    the day before:
    Wood Duck + *
    Band-tailed Pigeon
    Wild Turkey
    Greater Yellowlegs *
    American White Pelican *
    Hairy Woodpecker *
    Cedar Waxwing
    Yellow Warbler
    SUMMER TANAGER

Yesterday, 14 Sept. about 10:45 AM in Danville, along the Las Trampas Creek
riparian habitat a SUMMER TANAGER was heard in full song from north of the
Hap Magee Ranch Park trail bridge to Camille Ave.(this is also the Las Trampas
to Mt. Diablo EBRPD Trail). Near here were also two flocks of (FOS) Cedar
Waxwings, some still hawking flying insects.
At the El Portal Rd. bridge, also over Las Trampas Creek, (on the north
side) were a pair of Wood Ducks. Here also were 1 to 2 Yellow Warblers. Two small
flocks of about 12 Band-tailed Pigeons flew upstream (south). This City Park
can be reached from Danville Blvd., near the Alamo/Danville border, take El
Portal Rd., then left on La Gonda to the Park entrance. The trail is at the
back, west side of this small Park. The creek riparian access is also along
the West side of the Canine Park section.

Day before yesterday, 13 Sept. near Moraga (from the EBMUD Valle Vista
Trails Staging area off Canyon Rd.), about 20 Wood Ducks were on or flying over
the Upper San Leandro Reservoir. Also at the lake were 1 Am. White Pelican, a
Double-crested Cormorant, and Greater Yellowlegs to name a few. These could be
seen along the Rimer Creek Trail. Also here were 4 Wild Turkey hens,
foraging along the reservoir edge; and among the 4 kinds of woodpeckers was heard
    an Hairy Woodpecker.

    Happy birding,
    Phil Gordon
    Hayward, ALA Co.
