    Birders,
    
    This past weekend (Sat. Sept. 9th) I observed the first Oregon Junco of
    the season under the sunflower/mixed seed feeder in our garden here in
    Canyon Lakes South in San Ramon.  It appeared to be a first year bird as
    the plumage was not crisp yet, but still a bit "rumpled" looking.  We
    usually don't get Juncos in our yard until late November or even as late
    as around Christmas time.
