The bird was still in the brush pile about 3:15 when I arrived, then
disappeared for a while. Mike Feighner and Lewis (?) arrived shortly after,
and after about 15 anxious minutes, the bird reappeared near the entrance to
the nearby restaurant, and wandered into the sheltered seating area of the
restaurant. It was quite windy at the time.

    Hi All,

[There is] a Black-throated Sparrow at the Berkeley Marina. Emilie Strauss
found the bird this morning and I saw it at about 1 PM. There are excellent
directions on the bay area bird tape. Take the University exit off 880 and
drive west. Turn right onto Marina and left onto Spinnaker. Drive west on
Spinnaker to the end and park. Walk to the bay and turn south on the paved
trail and just before you reach the mouth of the marina there is a sign that
says OCSC sailing. Behind the sign and the bushes is a large fire pit with
brush in it. The juv Black-throated Sparrow was in the brush in the fire
    pit.
