    Today at Don Edwards NWR on the access road that runs parallel to the  
    Dumbarton Bridge, there were thousands of tiny Red-necked Phalaropes  
    in the former salt ponds, spinning and squeaking as they foraged for  
    what must be millions of little insects that congregate there.  They  
    seemed to be quite fearless as we walked along the road with our  
    binocs and scopes.  Quite an impressive sight.
