[EBB Sightings] Black Skimmers

The GGAS trip this morning to the Richmond Shoreline (beginning at the
end of Rydin Rd) was quite a good one. Highlights were a Common Murre
and 3 Black Skimmers. The Skimmers put on quite a show, skimming along
the edges of the Spartina stands. Eventually they perched among
roosting shorebirds and afforded quite good views. We also saw an
Osprey with a salmon! The fish seemed ~2/3 the length of the bird. The
Osprey landed on a phone poll and began to dine. I wonder how long such
a large fish will last the Osprey till it needs to hunt again. 

We had great studies of the common shorebirds, in good light.
