There was good shorebird variety today on the mudflats, but the best birds
weren't on the mud. A single Red-necked Phalarope was feeding ten feet
offshore along the north edge of the landfill peninsula at mid-morning, and we
discovered a Ruddy Turnstone and a Baird's Sandpiper along the outermost rocks of
    the bulb around 2pm.
