[EBB Sightings] Daytime Owl

We had a wonderful first for the summer camp today as we stumbled upon a Barn 
Owl apparently still out hunting at 10am this morning.   We found the bird 
sitting on a fence post along the north-south trail through the newly restored 
area at the Berkeley Marina, and it stared at us for a few seconds as we stared 
back in awe.   Most of the kids saw it perched, and all of us saw it in 
flight, as it wended it's way to the northwest corner of the large field before 
dropping out of sight.
Yesterday in Tilden, along the ridgeline north of Vollmer Peak, we had a 
Western Kingbird fly quickly over us, while a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher passed by in a 
more leisurely fashion.   Both birds were heading westward.
