There is at least one pair of Blue Grosbeaks out of Brentwood on Holland
Tract. They are opposite the river and before the marina, in the poplar
trees. The male was very cooperative and preened for 10 minutes, and the
female was flitting around in and out of sight above him. Also present in a
plastic casing around the utility wire above the road was a nest of Western
Kingbirds. Both parents were carrying food to 3 babies that were clearly
visible. This was just beyond the Grosbeaks. Also a great place to see
Swainson's Hawks circling above the fields.
