[EBB Sightings] female oriole

I've had a female oriole at my feeder daily in Fremont for a couple  
of weeks now but I've hardly seen the Hooded Oriole male since he  
showed up at the feeder for a few days at the beginning of June. Last  
year I saw him daily, singing and defending the nest, mostly from the  
Scrub Jays. Does this mean the orioles are not nesting in the next  
door palm as they did last year, but somewhere farther away, and the  
male is sticking closer to the nest while the female ventures out for  
food?
