    Dear Birders:

While birding with Emilee Strauss early this morning at Jewell Lake we saw
and heard a parula warbler. It was in the willows and alders at the
northwest corner of the lake, singing repeatedly as it moved through the
foliage. It gave us several good views. Emilee thinks it was probably a
young male. She has posted it on the rare bird alert.

Directions: Cross the bridge over the spillway and continue west. We saw it
both from the corner and a bit further along the trail that skirts the west
side of the lake. The lusty song rises at the end of the quick trill.

    Good Luck!
