As of this a.m. in my south central berkeley (Blake at Sacramento) backyard, there remains a pair of golden crowned sparrows. Their compatriots moved on last weekend.

And a sighting I attempted to post last week, but had some email snafu...

The big surprise: my wife called me at work late thursday afternoon with a wild turkey hen strutting down blake street in front of our house. It crossed the road, went into neighbor's backyard, jumped onto a tool shed, then vaulted over the fence and bounded off towards dwight way.
