Saturday 4/1/06 at Lake Del Valle I tallied 62 species in three hours of
hiking the south end of the lake. My list swelled by both winter birds and
new spring arrivals, it was a good day for variety. I had two FOS Western
Kingbirds, 1 male Bullock's Oriole and many Cliff Swallows. I located 4
swallow species but dipped on Barn Swallow. Also of interest was a stunning
Greater Yellowlegs, one Spotted Sandpiper and one female Wood Duck at the
water treatment ponds. Other nice birds included Golden Eagle, Lark Sparrow
    and singing Ca. Thrasher.

The Eastern Phoebe first found 12/24/05 could not be located in the usual
    location.
    Good birding.
