    We've had a pair for a while now.... Saw 'em last year, too. But they 
    usually hang out in the most remote waters they can find, so they're 
    hard to see.

    I believe that's a rescue bird. The park staff had another white pel for 
    many years - flightless, named "Helen," and fed faithfully on fish every 
    afternoon - until its death a couple of years ago. This seems to be a 
    replacement.
