This morning while birding at the Fremont City park (correct?) along Old Canyon Rd. & Alameda Creek, I saw & photographed a Red-breasted Sapsucker & a Spotted Sandpiper (who was flitting along the rocks in the center of the stream, then along the rocky shore, pumping its short tail all the while). I believe the Spotted Sandpiper was a juvenile, due to the pure white undertail coverts. Is that a reliable field mark for juvie Spotted's?
