My wife and I visited Del Valle Park today to look for the Eastern
Phoebe which has been seen there over the past few weeks. We arrived
at 9am and finally saw it for a few minutes around 11am. It was in
the trees around the Snack Bar by the Beach View Picnic Area. We
first saw the bird in the trees between the Snack Bar and the lake,
and then it flew a little ways to the north, closer to the lake, to
some trees in a nearby creekbed. From the southern entrance to the
park, on Del Valle Road, turn right just past the Park Entry Kiosk and
go about a third of a mile to the parking lot for the Beach View
    Picnic Area.

We ended up spending four and a half hours in the park and saw the
    following birds...

    California Quail
    Yellow-billed Magpie
    Turkey Vulture
    Western Scrup-Jay
