    Hi Birders,

This afternoon I dragged my oh so cooperative husband away from the =
football game to go to the Lafayette Reservoir in search of the Red =
Phalarope. Many thanks to John Poole for the details on the location. =
The bird was right there in the water feeding in the "kelp" at the east =
end of the dam. From time to time it ventured out away from the face of =
the dam around the cattails, but then returned. It was viewed and =
photographed by me and Mark and Cheryl (sp?) Reynolds. Sorry my photos =
are only 3x, so not so good for posting - and, alas, I have a slow =
dial-up connection. It was observed around 2pm. It was a "lifer" for =
    me.

Other species of note, It was a short trip, thus the short list,

    Black Phoebe
    Spotted Sandpiper
    Kildeer
    Buffleheads
    DC Cormorants
    Mallards
    Coots
    Pied-billed grebe
Pair of RT Hawks circling overhead
