Red Phalaropes continue at Hayward Shoreline (Winton Ave). One was in the
canal, another on the mudflat being harassed by Western Sandpipers that
'attacked' it and pulled its tail; two flew by. Also present were Red Knots, Surfbirds,
Ruddy and Black turnstones, for a total of 15 shorebird species at high tide
    around 11AM.

Good Birding in the New Year.
